Anchovy (アンチョビ, Anchobi) is a lazy bird villager that appears in the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase, "chuurp" is the noise birds make, which is "chirping." In Animal Crossing his initial phrase, "chuuurp," has one more "u" than in the sequels. His name, Anchovy, may be a reference to the fish anchovies, because birds eat small fish.

AppearanceEdit

Anchovy is a dark brown bird with brown, black, and tan feathers. He has a sharp, yellow, and pointy bill. Anchovy also has thick, black eye brows, making his emotion look somewhat neutral or happy. He initially wears the straw shirt in Animal Crossing, but in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, he wears the earthy knit.

Anchovy has a lazy personality, which means he will enjoy sleeping and napping, as well as appearing calm and relaxed through most circumstances. Like other lazy villagers, he will share the same interests such as clothes, fishing, bug catching, and fossil hunting. When he talks about clothes, he may mention his alter-ego, "Fashion Lad", a made-up hero by lazy villagers who tackles fashion disasters. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he may mention the idea of getting married, simply for the wedding buffet afterward. Snooty, Peppy, and Jock villagers will find it difficult to get along with him, due to his relaxed lifestyle which may cause offense to these villagers.

HouseEdit

Anchovy has the blue table, the parquet flooring, the modern wall and he possesses a retro stereo in his house that plays K.K. Ragtime. In Wild World, he has five pinball machines, while in the GameCube version, he has five slot machines.
