Anchovy (アンチョビ,Anchobi?) is a lazybirdvillager that appears in the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase, "chuurp" is the noise birds make, which is "chirping." It could also be a pun on "burp," as he is known to like eating. It is similar to Jacob's. His name, Anchovy, derives from the fact that anchovies make up the diet of some species of birds. He has appeared in every game so far.
Appearance
Anchovy is a dark brown bird with brown, black, and tan feathers. He has a sharp, yellow, pointy bill. Anchovy also has thick, black eye brows, making his emotion look somewhat neutral, and he also has a small smile. He initially wears the Straw Shirt in Animal Crossing, but in Wild World and City Folk, he wears the Earthy Knit.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the lazy personality. For more information, click here.
As a lazy villager, Anchovy will be friendly and easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he has a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, like when fishing. Anchovy will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, compared to the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics, or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal, peppy, smug, uchi and other lazy villagers, and occasionally cranky villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.
House
Anchovy has the blue table, the parquet flooring, the modernwall, and a retro stereo that plays K.K. Ragtime.
In Wild World, he has five pinball machines, while in the GameCube version, he has five slot machines. In New Leaf, he has four pinball machines, an ebony piano, a classic sofa, two billiard tables, and a pendulum clock.
Anchovy proudly claims the title of "All-Time Laziest Guy." He supposedly won a "Lounging Contest" somewhere, but he doesn't have any trophy to prove it, so he's probably just making the whole thing up.
