"Maybe I should spread some rumors and watch the fun!"
— Avery, City Folk
Avery (クスケチャ,,Kusukecha?) is a crankyeaglevillager who features in Animal Forest e+, City Folk, and New Leaf, being absent from Wild World. His name comes from "aviary," a place for keeping birds. His initial phrase is a cross between the sound an eagle makes and "yee-haw", a common cowboy phrase, relating to his Wild West-style house decor.
Avery is a gray eagle with lighter gray patterns across his body. He looks similar to native-American/Aztec design, where straight lines and block patterns were popular. He has average-sized eyes, and yellow feet and beak. He initially wears the Uncommon Shirt.
Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood and are more difficult to befriend than other villager types. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Avery will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature. Avery will also enjoy spreading rumors of other villagers.
In Animal Forest e+, he has the same house as Lucky, with the only difference being his basement wall. In City Folk he has some tiki torches in his house and his house has a Native American or Mayan feel. He is also fond of desert-themed items, such as cactus and even wallpaper. In Animal Forest e+, he has two Dingloids. In e+, he has no stereo, meaning no music. When he gains a stereo in City Folk and New Leaf, it will play K.K. Condor.
