Barold (ニッシー, Nisshī) is a cub villager that first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Barold's name seems to be a pun on the name "Harold" and the species that he is.
Appearance
Barold is a dust brown colored bear. The insides of his ears are tangerine and he appears to have a five-o-clock shadow beard on his face. He wears large square shaped glasses, also he has large bulky lips. There are white markings on his feet, his paws and the tip of his tail. His initial shirt is the Tiger Shirt.

Barold is a lazy villager. As such, Barold takes a keen interest in eating, sleeping, clothes, etc. He gets along very well with the player, as well as other lazy, normal or peppy villagers. But he may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness and do not understand the reason behind the lazy lifestyle choice. Barold usually goes to sleep at 10:00 PM, and awaken at 8:00 AM. As he is a Lazy villager he will have more of a laid back personality, his dialouges can sometimes be they "Ah huh huh huh! That's why they call me <villager's name> the romantic!" He usually will talk to the player about relaxation and food.
House
- Barold's home has a very modern theme to it, resembling an office building. He has a computer, white board, printer and a potted plant, along with a giant stuffed teddy bear in the top left corner. He has tiled flooring and a series of blinds for wallpaper. He has a Tape Deck which is playing My Place
