Don't look at me like that when I'm shopping! Even a fashion maven needs basic goods.
― Diana, New Leaf

Diana (ナタリー Natarī ?, Natalie) is a snooty deer villager who appears in New Leaf. She's also the only snooty deer. Her name stems from Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, whose symbol was a deer. Diana's Spanish name Bambina means "girl" in Italian. It also bears a resemblance to "Bambi", a movie produced by Disney which features a deer fawn by the same name. Her initial phrase "no doy" is a variant of "no duh", a rather snooty phrase that is uttered to indicate that something said is quite blatantly obvious. She has the education hobby.

She appears on the cover of K.K. Waltz.

Appearance[]

Diana in New Leaf

Diana is a white deer with a curled, lilac lock of hair. She wears pale pink makeup and black mascara with two eyelashes towards the end. Her hooves and the outside edge of her ears are a matching pink, along with a sky blue gradient. The insides of her ears are the same lilac as her hair. In New Leaf, she initially wears a natty tee, a Gracie Design. In New Horizons, she wears a mysterious dress.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here.

Diana has a snooty personality, which means she loves makeup and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Diana will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Diana will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jock villagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.

House[]

In New Leaf, Diana's house has a very elegant, almost magical feel to it. She has two pieces of the regal series: the table and the dresser, as well as two pieces of the mermaid series, those being the lamp and the screen. She plays Stale Cupcakes on her phonograph, and has a music box that plays the same song. She has a chaise lounge behind her mermaid screen, and a whirlpool bath. She uses the kitchen tile for flooring and the rococo wall for wallpaper.

In New Horizons, Diana's house is similar to her New Leaf home, as it resembles a spa or bathhouse. Her furniture is predominantly white and has a cozy theme, giving it an overall peaceful atmosphere. In the back of her house, there is a whirlpool bath with a shower set and deer decoration above it. There is also a white beach towel and rattan vanity next to it. Near the front of her house, she has a shell bed, rattan low table, fireplace, and a rattan end table with fragrance sticks. She plays Farewell on a lily record player.

Trivia[]

  • There are a few subtle connections to her and the Roman goddess Diana, aside from namesake. In a Greek legend, a hunter peeked in on the Goddess Artemis, also known as Diana in the Roman version of the story, while she was bathing. In retaliation, she turned the hunter into a stag (a male deer), to which his own hunting dogs immediately attacked him. Not only is Diana from this game a deer, but her house is styled as an elegant bathhouse, complete with Roman figures and palace wall, which is adorned with pillars on the wallpaper.
  • In New Leaf, Diana's preferred style is Iconic, and her preferred color is White. She dislikes the style Rock.
  • In New Horizons, Diana's preferred styles are Elegant/Gorgeous, and her preferred colors are Pink/Purple.
