This article is about the lazylion villager. For the special character, see Flick.
“I'm out on a snack run!”
― Rex's quote when he is not indoors, New Horizons
Rex (サンデー,Sandē?, Sundae) is a lazylionvillager from the Animal Crossing series. He was originally exclusive to GCN games, but has since been found in the data for Happy Home Designer. His name comes from the Latin word "rex," which means "king," relating to the view that lions are "kings of the jungle."
Rex returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town.
Rex is orange and brown, with three freckles on each side of his dark brown nose. His initial clothing is the Blue Pinstripe. He has purple eyelids and has half closed eyes.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the lazy personality. For more information, click here.
As a lazy villager, Rex will be friendly and easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he has a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, like when fishing. Rex will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a lifestyle of exercise and fitness, which conflicts with the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics, or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal, peppy, smug, and sisterly villagers, and occasionally cranky villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.
Rex was released with Pocket Camp on October 25, 2017.
Rex's preferred theme is natural, and he primarily gives cotton as a reward. His profile reads:
❝ Sunday is Rex's favorite day of the week. Why wouldn't it be? It's the day of rest! Of course, that's pretty much what he does Monday through Saturday too.❞

Rex is perplexed by the notion that most animals only have a single "lazy" day of the week. In Rex's opinion, you have to be ready to be lazy whenever the urge strikes, no matter what day it happens to be!
