“OK, so we don't have our own full-on Extreme Center... But it still ROCKS!”
― Sterling, City Folk
Sterling (ギンカク,Ginkaku?) is a jockeaglevillager from the Animal Crossing series. He made his debut to the series in City Folk. Sterling's name comes from "sterling silver" in reference to his metal helmet. His catchphrase is a play on the sound that some birds of prey make. He wears a helmet like Knox's. He has the fitness hobby.
Sterling wears a silver knight helmet and silver greaves. He is a blue and red eagle with a yellow beak. He initially wears the scale armor suit. He's similar in appearance to Knox, the crankychicken due to having a knight-like outfit. He is one of the few villagers to wear headgear and shoes.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Sterling has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Sterling is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Sterling.
House[]
In City Folk, Sterling's house has a Japanese theme, with a deer scare and a birdhouse. If Sterling has a stereo, it will play King K.K.
In New Leaf, Sterling's house instead has a more medieval theme. His room is decorated with a Library Wall and a Palace Floor. His furniture includes two pieces from the Gorgeous Series: the Table and the Sofa, along with two sets of Plate Armor and two Rooks. His phonograph now plays Lucky K.K.. In New Horizons his house is a jail theme house and has a cassette player that plays K.K. Dirge.
He has a strong resemblance with a toucan, a tropical bird from both Central and South American rainforests.
His helmet will never disappear. He can wear sunglasses, raincoats, hats and seasonal event headgear and yet, he will keep wearing it.
In New Horizons, Sterling's preferred styles are Elegant/Simple, and his preferred colors are Blue/Red.
Counting his vacation home, all of his homes have seemed to imply a sort of story. First a peasant, then a noble knight with a proper home, then he was thrown in jail for some unspecified reason, then he escaped to outer space. Even the songs he has playing in his homes add to this implied story. In his first house, the song King K.K. hints at him being a king one day. In his second house, the song Lucky K.K. hints at how lucky he is to live so opulently. Then in his dungeon-themed home, the song K.K. Dirge plays, as a subtle hint that he is living a sad existence in a dungeon. Then, in his vacation home, a funky futuristic song - K.K. Technopop plays. He is happy now, living in his spaceship. Nobody can get him. He is safe.
