Keaton (フランク, Furanku^?, Frank) is a smug eagle villager that first appeared in New Leaf. His name means "place of hawks (or in this case, eagles)", of which he is the all-knowing of them, according to his picture quote. This also references parrots' intelligence, because of his resemblance to one (and the fact that "Keaton" contains "-keet", alluding to parakeets in the neotropical parrot tribe Arini). His initial catchphrase is a play on "wing" and Ringo.

He appears on the album cover of K.K. Moody alongside Broffina. He has the music hobby.

Appearance

Keaton is an eagle bearing a striking resemblance to a blue-and-yellow macaw. The tips of his wings, head, and tail are aqua blue. He has a gray beak and reddish pinkish feet. His eyes are half-closed and sleepy-like, with eyelashes along the bottom. He initially wears the Raglan Tee or Fuzzy Vest.

Smug villagers are very polite, kind, and gentleman-like. As a smug villager, Keaton will get along easily with other villagers. Smug villagers get along well with most villagers, their personality appearing to be a mix of the other personality types. Smug villagers will stroke their egos from time to time, going on about how cool they are.

Generally, Keaton will get along with lazy, normal, snooty, and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.

House

In New Leaf, the initial design of Keaton's house features a beach theme, with many beach furniture items, as well as picnic and cupid's benches. Other items that help contribute to the beach theme of the house are the two beach tables, the surfboard, the lifesaver, the two plastic beach chairs, and the stove. He uses the tropical vista wallpaper and tropical floor carpet, and the tape deck in his home plays K.K. Moody.

In New Horizons, Keaton's house is themed to look like a gas station or parking lot. There are multiple racecar beds in differing colors to represent cars, traffic cones about, as well as tree-lined wall wallpaper and parking lot flooring to match. While this varies greatly from his house in New Leaf, it keeps the theme of mimicking an outside setting.

Keaton was added to Pocket Camp in the August 28, 2022 update.

Keaton's preferred theme is hip, and he primarily gives paper as a reward. His profile reads:

Trivia

• Keaton's Japanese name is the same as Frank's English name.
• Kass, a character in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild bears a similar color palette to Keaton, as well as a personality not too far off from the way smug villagers would act. Kass is also a musician, which Keaton aspires to be.
• In New Horizons, Keaton's preferred styles are Cool/Gorgeous, and his preferred colors are Blue/White.
