Originally, Balloon Fight was released in Japan on January 22nd, 1985, and then later in North America in 1986. In the game, you play as a person who flies using balloons strapped to a helmet. The game has three main modes: 1-player game, 2-player game, and balloon trip. In the first two modes, the player clears levels full of bird-like enemies who also fly with balloons. In balloon trip, the player simply has to survive in a scrolling level filled with floating sparks for as long as possible. This game was the inspiration for balloon trip, Villager's up special move in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, as well as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
