The parasaur (full name parasaurolophus) is a three-part fossil that can be donated to the museum in Wild World, City Folk, New Leaf, New Horizons, and collected by Happy Home Handbook in Happy Home Designer.

Donation to the museum[]

In Wild World[]

Upon completion of the parasaur exhibit at the museum in Wild World, Blathers will give the player some information about the creature.

"...Hoo yes, finally! The parasaurolophus is now complete! Such majesty! The parasaurolophus lived until the end of the days of the dinosaurs! The crest on its head was a hollow bone over three feet in length. This beast could toot its own horn, wot! The very thought of the sound it might have made ruffles all of my feathers!"

In City Folk[]

After donating all of the pieces of the parasaurolophus to the museum in City Folk, Blathers will give the player information on the creature with the following dialogue.

"The parasaurolophus lived until the end of the days of the dinosaurs! The crest on its head was a hollow bone over three feet in length. This beast could toot its own horn, wot! The very thought of the sound it might have made ruffles all of my feathers!"

In New Leaf[]

In New Leaf, a plaque by the display offers information about the fossil instead of Blathers.

"The parasaurolophus is well known for the distinctive head crest extending from its nose to behind its head. The crest was formed from a hollow bone that was more than a yard in length. Theories hold that it was used to amplify the creature's vocalizations for a variety of reasons."

In New Horizons[]

In New Horizons, upon donation to the museum or selecting "Tell me more about this!", Blathers will say:

"Hootie-hoo, Parasaurolophus! I like to think of it as the beast with the golden tones. You see, the three-foot structure of hollow bone atop its head MAY have been an elaborate noisemaker! As a dyed-in-the-feathers optimist AND music fan, I like to think it serenaded the late Cretaceous!"

The parasaurolophus is displayed along the back wall of the second fossil room, between the iguanodon and triceratops.
