Igloos are the Winter equivalent to the Summer Campers. They are set up in January through February from 10:00 AM to 9:59 PM. Inside, one villager is set up with a large pot of chowder over a warm fire and a rug. In Animal Forest, in place of the chowder was a small grill with slowly-bubbling blocks of yakimochi. The player can either chat to the villager in the igloo or play a game with them, which includes gambling, trading, or guessing games, depending on the villager's personality, to win exclusive items. Different personalities have different games. (Note: These items were only exclusive in Animal Crossing. They could be bought repeatedly from Tom Nook in Wild World.)

In New Leaf, the igloo simply replaces the tent from December 11th to February 24th. The player gets different items from the igloo compared to the tent. Various villagers can be found inside and the player can convince to move into the town. Disregarding the function, everything else about the igloo is an upgraded version of its Animal Crossing counterpart.

Items exclusive to the igloo:

  1. Campfire
  2. Camp stove
  3. Fish grill
  4. Smoker
  5. Stewpot

Trivia[]

  • In Japanese titles, igloos are called kamakura. This is a reference to the Yokote Kamakura Festival which is held yearly in Japan.
