The quaint painting (おちついためいが, Ochitsuitameiga^?, calm masterpiece) is a painting that can be bought in Animal Forest e+, Wild World, City Folk, New Leaf and can be collected by Happy Home Handbook in Happy Home Designer. In New Horizons, the painting can be donated to the museum and be added to the art gallery. As this painting can be bought from Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler, players should keep in mind that they may be purchasing a forgery. Despite being available at Crazy Redd's in both Animal Crossing and City Folk, it is a spotlight product in Wild World, and is therefore considerably cheaper. The Quaint Painting is a copy of Johannes Vermeer's The Milkmaid, painted circa 1658.

This piece earned Vermeer the nickname "Master of Light" thanks to its exquisite contrast and depth. Vermeer painted this masterpiece at only 25 years of age. Many note that it is surprisingly small in real life.
