The fine painting (たいへんなめいが, taihennameiga?, tremendous masterpiece) is a painting that can be bought in all of the games in the Animal Crossing series up until New Leaf and can be collected by Happy Home Handbook in Happy Home Designer. It can be donated to the museum for addition to the art gallery. As this painting can be bought from Crazy Redd's in some games, players should bear in mind that they may be purchasing a counterfeit. Upon donation in City Folk, it is one of the few privileged paintings to be displayed in the rear room, where it is sheltered behind a protective fence.
