A hacked town, which features a flying character and a town covered in bells.

Hacked Distributed Items are distributed items (or DLC) that are not created or endorsed by Nintendo. These items are usually hacked into the game with unauthorized modifiers and other largely unknown methods.

RUU 0033

A RedLightSaberV1. It's inventory icon is an axe close to breaking, but is actually a hacked golden axe.

Overlapped Hacked DLC Items

These items can only be obtained in City Folk. DLC items of the same type cannot overlap, meaning only one type of these can be injected to the game at any time, due to ID restraints, or other problems. (All itemIDs are hexadecimals.)

These items are normally present in the game, but are unobtainble by normal means:

Wilted Golden Roses (0x00D8)

In the final game, golden roses can't wilt. Because of this, this item goes unused.


A placeholder item which shows the apple graphics when dropped and the leaf graphics in the inventory. It can be purchased for 0 bells.

Letter (0x9030)

A furniture item which shows the letter graphics when dropped and the leaf graphics in the inventory. It can be purchased for 0 bells.

Paper Bag (0x9034)

One of the lost items from the villagers in Wild World.

Note in a bottle (0x9038)

The note-in-a-bottle from Wild World still exists in City Folk. It can be purchased for 180 bells.

Paint Can

Nook does sell these, but the paint goes straight to the roof without ever touching the player's inventory.

Weathered Paper

Weathered paper was used as the bottle paper in Animal Crossing: Wild World. It uses the IDs 9670 (one sheet) to 9673 (four sheets).

Bulletin Paper

This paper is unobtainable in the final game. It can actually be used without cheats, but only from the town hall. It uses the IDs 974C (one sheet) to 974F (four sheets).

There are four unused flooring and wallpaper sets for Nook's Cranny, Nook 'N' Go, Nookway, and Nookington's.

Unused Wild World Furniture

The Nintendo bench and the moth orchid from Animal Crossing: Wild World still exist in the game's files. As they work fine, it's unknown why they weren't used.

Cranny Pots

The pots seen as decorations in Nook's Cranny. These were later made regular items in New Leaf.

Moving Boxes

Come in sets of 2, 4, and 5. While being unobtainable as items, these are used in-game as replacement for furniture on the first day a villager moves in.

Invisible Chair

Present as C81C, C82C, C834, C838 and C83C. As the name says, they are invisible, can be sat on, and they use the filler name not used.
