"Happiness is finding the perfect spot for the perfect piece of furniture."Jambette (エスメラルダ, Esmeralda?) is a normal frog villager from the Animal Crossing series. As a normal villager, she will appear hospitable towards the player and be easy to befriend. Jambette's name seems to derive from the French "jambes", meaning "legs" - frogs' legs being a well-known French dish. Her initial phrase, "croa-kay", is a combination of "croak" (a sound frogs make) and "okay". This may be another French-based pun, as "croa-kay" is pronounced the same as "croquet", a game originating in France. Jambette is absent in Animal Crossing: Wild World but returns in Animal Crossing: City Folk.
— Jambette, Animal Crossing: City Folk
Jambette is a green frog with lighter green cheeks, pink lipstick, blue eyeshadow, and black eyelashes. As makeup is often associated with snooty villagers, the player may mistake her for a snooty villager at first. She initially wears the Prism Shirt, a white shirt with differently-colored cubes on it.
Jambette has a normal personality, meaning that she will be friendly and motherly to the player. She will be easy to befriend and she will have an obsession with hygiene. As a normal villager, she will be open to all different personalities, meaning she will get along with most villagers. However when talking with snooty or cranky villagers, they will have a keen interest in gossip.
In Animal Crossing, Jambette has a playroom or daycare theme towards it, along with furniture from the Kiddie Series. Five gyroids are in her house. These include the sproids and drilloids. She also has a gelato umbrella. Jambette has the checkered tile floor along with the kiddie wall. She owns no stereo.
Jambette's house in New Leaf is very similar to her house in City Folk, with the biggest difference being that she has more items from the Classic Series. She now has a classic table, a classic vanity, and a classic buffet with an aroma pot on top of it. She still has her plants, and her phonograph, which still plays K.K. Country. Her wallpaper and flooring is unchanged from the last game.
- Sometimes, when talking to Blazel, a beta squirrel only accessible through hacking in Animal Crossing, the game will refer to Blazel as Jambette.
