Merengue (パティ, Pati) is a rhino introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Her name is Spanish for meringue, a type of dessert made with egg whites and sugar and her phrase referencing what she looks like, strawberry shortcake.

Appearance

Merengue's body is light pink with a white layer that covers the top of her head and smaller horn that looks like whipped cream. She has rosy cheeks and small pink ears. She has black eyes with a triangle shape on the side of both eyes, and she has two eyelashes stemming from each eye. Merengue has white hooves and a tail with a peach colored puff at the end. Her horn protrudes from the top of her snout and resembles a strawberry. Overall, she looks similar to strawberry shortcake. She initially wears a chef shirt, suiting her food-like appearance.

Personality

Merengue has a normal personality which means she will act kind and nice towards the player. Like all normal villagers, she will get along well with other villagers, particularly other normal, cranky, lazy, and peppy villagers. She may, however, conflict with snooty and uchi villagers. She will also engage in hobbies like other villagers such as fishing and bug catching. Merengue usually wakes up at 6:00 AM. Since she has a normal personality, she is easy to befriend obtain a picture from.

House

Merengue has a café themed home, with a few items from the sweets series and a chocolate fountain. There is a minimalist minitable with red tulips on top. Next to the table is a soft-serve lamp. There is a dessert case in front of the minimalist table. Merengue owns a refridgerator with a kitchen island nearby. She has a phonograph that plays K.K. Stroll.
