" Yayyy! I got the golden net. I'd better take care of it! ♥" —City Folk

Nets are a type of tool that have been available throughout the Animal Crossing series. They are used to catch bugs, such as insects, arachnids and some crabs.

Usage

A net is used to catch the large variety bugs found throughout the series, either on the ground, in the air or on trees. In the original GameCube games and in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the player can hold down the A button to creep while a net is equipped, which is useful catching more evasive bugs that are easily startled.

A net can be used to smack villagers, often resulting in shock and eventually in anger or sadness if hit three times.

In later games where silver and gold varieties of net are introduced, the improved tools make it easier by increasing the range of the net to allow for a better chance of catching a bug.
