The nice painting is a painting that can be bought in Wild World, City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It can be donated to the museum for addition to the art gallery. As this painting can be bought from Crazy Redd's in some games, players should bear in mind that they may be purchasing a counterfeit. However, in Animal Crossing: New Leaf this painting is always genuine.
The Fifer is also known as "Young Flautist". It was painted in 1866 by Édouard Manet. It is currently on show in Musée d’Orsay in Paris. It features Manet's muse Victorine Meurent playing the flute. Although thought as a boy at first glance, Victorine is actually an androgynous girl in this painting. Her features have been merged with those of her prepubescent son to give this effect.
