Nintendo Network (ニンテンドーネットワーク, Nintendō Nettowāku) is Nintendo's current online service for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. It serves as a replacement for the older Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection which operated on the Nintendo DS and the Wii. As well as providing online functionality for games, Nintendo Network also allows users to have a friends list of up to 100 friends, using a Nintendo Network ID (NNID) on the Wii U or their Friend Code on the Nintendo 3DS; connect to the Nintendo eShop; and connect to Miiverse. The Nintendo Network also provides the ability for demos, downloadable content and game updates and patches to fix bugs.
