Nook's Homes (たぬき ハウジング, Tanuki haujingu) is a new shop in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is run by Tom Nook and Lyle, who allow the player to customize their House and expand it. It is located on Main Street between Club LOL and the Post Office. Lyle runs Happy Home Academy in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The HHA score is updated daily. The player will no longer get the report in the mail, it's given by talking to Lyle.
House Expansion involves adding or increasing the size of rooms to the player's house. House expansions take certain features from Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, by allowing the player to add rooms to the back and sides of the house, as was seen in Animal Crossing: Wild World, or add a basement, as seen in Animal Crossing: City Folk. As with both games, the player can also add a second floor. However, a new feature in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the player can determine what additional space to make to their house, unlike in previous games where the player had to follow a set sequence of expansion.
House Customization involves changing certain exterior parts of the player's house. This involves changing the style of:
- Exterior walls
Nook's Homes rotates stock each day with the player given a selection of a mailbox, roof, pavement, exterior design, fence, architecture, and two doors. If the player is visiting someone else's town, they can request a part from that Nook's Homes to be made available in their own town.
A list of available customizations can be found here.
