“Rain, sleet, snow, or hail, we'll deliver what you mail!”
― Pelly, Animal Crossing
Pelly (ぺりこ, Periko?) is a female pelican who works at the Post Office in Animal Crossing and New Leaf and runs the Town Hall in Wild World and City Folk. Her name comes from her species, a pelican. She works as a clerk during the daytime shift. She is the younger sister of Phyllis, who has a different personality from Pelly. Phyllis appears rude and lacks work morale; Pelly, however, appears to enjoy her work. She can be conscious of her personality, and even goes as far to ask if she appears introverted.
Appearance
Pelly's appearance is similar to Pete. She has a white tuft of hair and she wears a pink short-sleeved blouse with a white bow and sleeves and a purple skirt. She also wears rosy pink blush on her cheeks.
Role
In Animal Crossing
Pelly can be found from 7am to 7pm in the Post Office in Animal Crossing. She is the daytime clerk. The player can talk to her to send and save letters to other villagers. In other towns, the player can talk to her to send letters to villagers in that town. She is in love with Pete, but is too shy to mention it to him. She doesn't have a very developed character.
In Wild World
Pelly has the same role in Wild World as she did in Animal Crossing, where she will send and save letters for the player. She works from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. She now lets the player edit the Town Tune. Pelly has a secret crush on Pete, the mail man. She will sometimes sigh, when the player visits the Town Hall, about Pete who she will talk about if the player wishes to listen to her story. She writes on the town bulletin board about happenings, birthdays, and her own anonymous thoughts. She can be found enjoying coffee in The Roost an hour before her shift on random days. The player can get Pelly mad - after shooting Pete down from the sky and becoming friends with him. Pelly will get mad at you and will give you a "talk".
Pelly's picture can be obtained after the player saves 100,000,000 Bells in their bank account. The picture quote is "Always remember the Boondoxians". The Boondoxians being poor, inept villagers in a town which Pelly cares about.
In City Folk
Pelly still works the same shift at the Town Hall as in Wild World. However, she can now fix problems for the player, such as the chance the player is locked out of their own house or if there is a problem with the player's villagers' clothes or catchphrases. You can also ask her about the environment. She does not handle banking anymore, as that is now part of the ABD (Automatic Bell Dispenser). Her writing on the bulletin board remains, and she still has a crush on Pete. However, Pete now has a new interest in Pelly's older sister, Phyllis. Pelly can be seen in The Roost sometimes before her shift in the Town Hall. She can be found from 6:00AM to 6:59AM, waiting for her shift. Pelly will often say that Phyllis is not as mean as she looks.
In New Leaf
Pelly retains the same role of working the early hours at the post office, but she is now in a separate building from the town hall. Instead, it is now located with other buildings in Main Street. It is first building on the left, next door to Nook's Homes and the Happy Home Showcase.
In Dōbutsu no Mori
Pelly appeared in Gekijōban Dōbutsu no Mori, and served as a supporting character. She helped Ai when she first came to Animal Village.

Super Smash Bros Brawl Trophy Information
"Sisters who work at the town hall, which is open 24 hours a day. The younger Pelly is at the window from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Phyllis has the night shift. Pelly's cheerful and polite manner makes her the model of good customer service. Phyllis, however, is snooty and treats everyone with impatience and disdain. That said, she's very efficient at her job."
Trivia
- Though Pelly normally comes off as more positive than Phyllis, if the player "asks for a present" when they've already received the gift, she treats them like a crook and sarcastically says that the player made an "honest mistake". Unlike Phyllis, who will simply say that the player has already claimed it.
- Pelly, like Pete and Phyllis, is named after the word pelican.
- In New Leaf, Pelly has the voice of a peppy villager.
