Penelope (チューこ, Chūko?) is a peppy mouse villager that appears in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Her name comes from the Greek word "pēnē" meaning "weaver", likely a reference to her bow. Her initial catchphrase is a play on the words "oh boy" and is a reference to her unique lack of ears and instead a bow.
She appears on the album cover for K.K. House.
Penelope is a light gray, almost mint-colored mouse with blonde hair. Her appearance is rather unique for a mouse, as she lacks ears and has a pink bow in their place. Her bow is quite similar to Celeste's. She has a dark gray nose, and a small, perky smile showing her teeth. The tips of her paws and legs are also a dark gray. Her eyes are of an oval shape, she has black pupils and a set of three eyelashes on both her eyes. She sports a pink wave shirt during her first appearance in a player's town. When it rains, she will carry the leaf umbrella.
- Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.
Penelope is a villager under the peppy personality, meaning she is overly energetic, hyper at times and generally happy. She is very friendly, eager to make new friends and as a result, is quite easy to befriend. She loves attention, dancing, popularity and gossiping, but dislikes it when other villagers gossip about her. She is competitive, open about her feelings and talkative, which might cause other villagers to find her annoying. She is quite generous, but is easily angered when disappointed or ignored.
Penelope's house is rather neat and feminine, with quite a few pieces of the lovely and alpine furniture, including the lovely lamp and bed, and an alpine dresser and low table. She also has a few pieces of the Sweets Series including the sweets player and bookcase. She has Bubblegum K.K. playing on her stereo.
