Rex (サンデー, Sandē^?, Sundae) is a lazy lion villager from the Animal Crossing series. He was originally exclusive to GCN games, but has since been found in the data for Happy Home Designer. His name comes from the Latin word "rex," which means "king," relating to the view that lions are "kings of the jungle."

Rex returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town.

Rex is orange and brown, with three freckles on each side of his dark brown nose. His initial clothing is the Blue Pinstripe. He has purple eyelids and has half closed eyes.

Personality

As a lazy villager, Rex will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food such as fishing. He will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, compared to the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food.

House

Rex's house has mostly has the Classic Series in his house including the Classic Bed and the Classic Sofa. He has two Gyroids, which are the Mega Timpanoid and the Mini Fizzoid. The wallpaper is the Classic Wall and the flooring is the Opulent Rug. There is no stereo, but if he obtains one K.K. Casbah will be played.
