― Rowan, City Folk

Why be junior varsity when you can be VARSITY?!
― Picture quote, Wild World

Rowan (ゴメス Gomesu?, Gomez) is a tiger villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appears as a cranky islander in Animal Forest+, Animal Crossing, and Animal Forest e+. In Wild World and all subsequent entries, he is a jock villager.

Appearance

Rowan is an orange tiger with black stripes and a large white muzzle. He has small, belittling eyes and an aqua-green color in his ears. In Animal Crossing, he wears the Blue Aloha Shirt and a straw hat. In Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf he wears a Blue Dot Shirt.

Personality

Rowan's personality changes from a cranky islander in Animal Crossing to a jock villager in Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf.

In Animal Crossing

Template:Main personality

As a cranky villager in Animal Crossing, Rowan will appear mature compared to other personality types. This will make him appear belittling and insensitive to other villagers, including the player. Despite this, he will learn to confide in the player, considering them his only friend. He will enjoy the usual hobbies, but for relaxation and peace than competition. He will find it difficult to socialize with peppy villagers, who he will criticize when talking to other villagers. He will get along with lazy and snooty villagers, as well as other cranky villagers, who he will share deeper conversations with. He will, on occasion, annoy a normal villager, usually when being mean about something or someone.

Fruit Allergy

As an islander, he has a favorite fruit and a fruit that he is allergic to. Feeding him the allergy fruit will reduce the likelihood of him dropping money bags. Rowan is allergic to Pears and loves Apples.

In Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf

Template:Main personality

In Wild World and City Folk, Rowan has a jock personality, which means he will have a keen interest in sports and fitness. This will make him appear competitive and in some cases rude when talking to other villagers, usually criticizing their fitness. He will appear slow-witted and absent-minded when talking about deep, meaningful things. He will get along well with peppy villagers, but gets confused by the choice of lifestyle followed by lazy villagers, who appear opposite to the jock personality. He may offend and upset snooty and cranky villagers. If he loses his temper, he calls the player scrawny.

House

In City Folk, he has green furniture in his house and no stereo. If he obtains one, it will play Aloha K.K. In Wild World, he has two totem poles and a Sproid, along with a ton of green furniture as well. In New Leaf, he has exotic furniture instead of green furniture, and doesn't have gyroids anymore, but is otherwise the same as it was in Wild World and City Folk. If given a stereo in New Leaf, it will now play K.K. Love Song.
