- — Serena, Animal Crossing: City Folk
Serena (めがみさま, Goddess) is the fountain goddess of your town's fountain. She, like Farley before her, gives the player an axe upgrade. She is a Chihuahua, the smallest breed of dog.
Appearance
Edit
Serena is a solid white dog with a white toga. The tips of her paws are a purple/pink color. Behind her nose is also a purple/pink color. She has large beady purple eyes and wears golden jewelery. On her head, she wears a veil. She wears gold earrings. She also has large pointed ears in front. She is often mistaken for an angel because of her golden crown. Her name presumably comes from the word 'serene', a word sometimes used when addressing people of high status (e.g. "His Serene Highness") or someone who's calm. However, the name is also somewhat ironic given her unpredictable nature. Sometimes, she cries, because players are throwing axes at her, which is Chihuahua- ish.
Getting to Serena
Edit
To get to Serena, the player must first unlock the fountain by donating 400,000 Bells (not including the 200,000 Bells that are needed for the extra bridge) to the Town Fund. Talk to Pelly to donate. Then, the player must throw an axe into the fountain. To throw the axe, make a horizontal swipe with the Wii remote. Doing so will land the axe into the middle of the fountain. It should be noted that the day the fountain is bought Mayor Tortimer will be in the way so an axe cannot be thrown into the fountain at this time. Serena may come out and ask any combination of 3 different questions, which will lead to further questions. Usually she will appear disappointed after the axe is thrown, after questioning you she may say she will give the player a gold axe and give nothing in return, or she could simply take the axe and disappear. There is a statue of her in the center of the fountain in the City.
Getting the Silver/Gold Axe
Edit
Added by PokefloraSerena is very unpredictable and often gets mad when axes are thrown at her. Sometimes, she asks if she appears "goddess-y" and asks for the player's opinion. If Serena is sweet-talked enough, she just might hand over the player's axe. However, the axe may also be returned through telling the truth.
Sometimes, Serena has a sad face and asks "Why are you throwing axes at me? Do you hate me?". If the player says yes, she might keep the axe or hand over a gold axe so that the player would like her. There are many other things that she may ask every time the player throws an axe in the fountain; she is very unpredictable and may offer a gold/silver axe, give the original axe back, or simply keep the original axe.
She also asks "Did you throw in a golden axe, or maybe it was a silver axe?" This is
