Serene painting
Real name Lady with an Ermine
Artist Leonardo da Vinci
Appearances CF, NL
Regional names Flag of France small Toile royale
Flag of Italy small Quadro simbolico

The serene painting was introduced in City Folk and is only available from Crazy Redd's. The painting is a copy of Leonardo Da Vinci's oil-on-canvas portrait Lady with an Ermine - painted from 1489 to 1490, it depicts a woman holding an ermine- a stoat in its winter coat. Despite the title, it would appear that this "stoat" is actually a ferret.

Stolen from Poland in 1939 by the Nazis, it was later recovered by the Allied forces after World War II and was returned to the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków. It remains there to this day.

Note: Prior to New Leaf, paintings did not have visual differences between forged and genuine versions. Therefore, paintings given to Blathers were fake or authentic at random.

The forged painting features a woman holding a cat, while in the genuine painting, she is holding a ferret.
