Sheep are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. Their wool can vary in color and style, but all sheep have large, curled horns. As they have wool covering their bodies, they do not wear shirts; instead, they have scarves that depict the design of the shirt or pattern that they are currently wearing. Many sheep have appeared in the early games of the series. A total of fourteen sheep have appeared in the series.
Throughout the Animal Crossing series, the majority of the sheep available in each game has always been female. Male sheep have been in the minority, as only four have appeared since Animal Forest, which only had Woolio. Wild World and City Folk exclusively feature female sheep. This proportional trend has continued in New Leaf, where only two of the ten sheep villagers available in the game are male.
- Although all sheep in the series have horns, in reality only rams have horns.
