"Wow, this is amazing! Better than last year, I think!"
— Sprocket, Animal Crossing during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Sprocket (ヘルツ, Hertz?) is an ostrich who was at first exclusive to in the original GCN games, but has since been found in the data for Happy Home Designer. He is a jock villager, meaning he has an interest in physical fitness and sports which makes him appear competitive and stereotypically slow-witted. His name is a reference to a type of machine part.

Sprocket returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome Amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town.

Sprocket from Animal Crossing

Sprocket has a mechanical exterior, with a green head, gray body, and an orange beak and legs. He barely looks like a normal ostrich as he is mostly a robot, but he has a few thin, green feathers on the back of his head. He wears a No. 67 Shirt. He has a robot head, like Ribbot.

Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Sprocket has a jock personality, and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as egotistical and dense. As a jock villager, Sprocket is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player for catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Conversations with snooty and cranky villagers may also be difficult, at times, for Sprocket.

His house contains many items from the Robot Series, which connects to his appearance. If Sprocket is given a stereo, it will play K.K. Technopop.
