“Good evening! Um... not to be blunt, but do I even know you? I don't, do I?”
― Tad, Animal Crossing
Tad (タンボ,Tanbo?) is a jockfrogvillager from the Animal Crossing series. His name comes from the word tadpole, which is the name for a newborn frog. His catchphrase, "sluuuurp", might be related to the sound that frogs make when they extend their tongues to catch flies and eat them.
Tad returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town.
Tad is a simple green frog. He has large, round eyes, a squiggly mouth, and two nostrils below his eyes. He has a similar appearance to Emerald, another frog. He initially wears the One-Ball Tee. Like all other frogs, he does not carry an umbrella when it rains.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Tad has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Tad is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Tad.
His house in New Leaf is farm themed. He doesn't initially have a Stereo, but if obtained, it will play Wandering.
In New Horizons, his house exterior is construction in the style of a cabin, with noticeable wooden logs as exterior walls. His interior is themed around what may be a rural farm.
Tad was released with Pocket Camp on October 25, 2017.
Tad's preferred theme is sporty, and he primarily gives wood as a reward. His profile reads:
❝ If you can't find Tad, he's probably at the gym. If he's not at the gym, then chances are he's on a run. Still can't find him? Check his bed. That guy needs some rest!❞

You'll never meet a more graceful athlete than Tad. Maybe it's because he's a frog, but nobody can outjump him, that's for sure. Oddly enough, no one ever seems to recall seeing Tad working out...
