Can I just ask for clarification what you mean when you say 'Buyer's tips', under the the 'see' section? Do you mean buying items in the game? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question :P

Animal Forest?[]

Actually, there were two different versions of the game in Japan. Animal Forest+ and Animal Forest e+ for the N64 and GCN respectivley. E+, the second one, had many new features that the first one didn't, such as new things from Animal Crossing (US)

genre?[]
What genre do guys think we should classify the AC games as? RPG? Communication? other? We should try too keep it consistant too, once we've decided. -Puphles 17:43, 23 Dec 2005 (UTC)
AC isn't an RPG. While we are playing the role of our characters, the RPG genre consists of character leveling and story. AC should be classified as a simulation; if you want to be a bit more precise about it, it's a community simulation or social simulation. -[[User:Shivver|Shivver]

Officially it's only "virtual life" or "simulation". It falls under only those two genres. I see it categorized under "virtual life" more often though.
troll prevention[]
With the increase of trolling lately, does anyone have any suggestions for how to prevent them? Unfortunatly, there aren't any sysops, so we can't block IP addresses. Any other ideas?
- What sort of trolling has there been? The only problem I'm aware of is the spam, which we're working on preventing now. Reporting it at the Wikicities:Talk:Spam Blacklist page is the best thing to do for now. Angela (talk) 16:12, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Logo[]

- You are welcome to upload one and then leave a note here and I can set it as the logo. For the older skins, the image should be no larger than 150 pixels square. For the new skins (like quartzsmoke), the logo should be 266px wide and 75 pixels high. Angela (talk) 17:20, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

This next one isn't so much of a spam page as it is redundent. Animal Crossing DS is released! is a page that simply repeats its title. However, I think that anyone trying to figure out if Animal Crossing:Wild World had been released, they would head on over to its page. Should it be deleted? Stumpers 22:35, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Here's an idea for getting images from Wild World: The Nintendo Power Player's Guide. Does anyone have it who can scan in the images? I think they have pictures of just about every image in the game. If someone has other ideas for images from any AC game, especially the original game and its Japanese counterparts, can you post here? I went ahead and added a Wikia Gaming footer to the bottom of the Main Page. We're trying to get Wikia's gaming wikis more linked with each other. It's not mandatory, so you can remove it if you really hate it, but it would be appreciated if you didn't :). You can change the links to point to any other wikia wikis you like or cooperate with. - I researched him some more, and it turns out the company that created the games is USA based. AC, of course, is Japanese. Bubsy was a very minor player in the SNES era, and even more minor during the N64 era. The company is now defunct. I'd also say it's probably a coincidence. Stumpers 00:00, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism[]
Lately we seem to be getting a lot more vandalism on the site. While it's easy to undo and all, some vandals have taken the liberty of replacing text with their statements over the course of several page edits. In other words, if anyone else makes a good edit during this time, the person who cleans up the vandalism is forced to waddle through the history of the page. Long story short, it's not fair to rely on users alone to protect the Wiki from Vandalism. Should this problem continue or get worse, I highly think we should get another sysop here. We only have one currently, and as far as I know they haven't been here for a while. Stumpers 22:03, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Character Information Template[]
I was wondering if you guys would like a Character Information Template. This would include a space for the name of the character, a picture of the character, the gender, the date of birth if its a villager (or Tom Nook, if anyone remembers when his b-day is o.0), a section for information if its a visiting character (ie time, items given out), and finally a place for the games he or she has appeared in. - Turns out I stink at making templates, but I can make infoboxes anyway. Check the Agent S or Alfonso articles and copy the infobox. It's manual rather than automatic, but that's how the cookie crumbles. Stumpers 02:56, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

The new logos say "Animal Crossing Wikia" when we're really "Animal Crossing City". Plus, could we please come to a consensus about this before just posting, please? - An update on the main page design - Wikia Starter wiki is the current standard layout for a main page. We do ask that main page redesigns incorporate the new main page column tags, however, though there's a lot you can do with them. For example, see these customized main pages - w:c:muppet, w:c:wowwiki, w:c:ffxi.

New Format for Holidays/Events[]

Use of Templates[]
I was thinking, in sense of organization and professionalism, I'd say that pages such as Nook's Stores and Animals should have like an infobox template or something. Like the Nook Stores could have an infobox of the store name, the hours of operation, bells needed to spend in order to upgrade to the next store, and what not. And the Animals could have like catchphrase (before the player changes it of course..) their name, and some other stuff that could go in there. How about it?
In addition, more redirect pages like "Nook N Go" redirecting to "Nook 'N' Go" and other common misspellings and such.

Villager Question[]
Hi, I was just wondering, is this wiki still pretty new? Because there were a few villagers I was looking for that I couldn't find (I'm gonna assume it isn't complete, because 40 villagers somehow doesn't seem right... XD) I'm gonna start making some new pages for villagers, someone stop me if it seems like I was looking in the wrong place. (Also, due to lack of information on villagers pages, maybe they could be merged into villager personalities, like cranky, jock, and the unofficial 'nerdy' personality). - Well, what I meant was, seen as a lot of the Villager pages are only about 20 words long, it would make sense to make an article for 'Jock', 'Peppy', and so on, and put character descriptions in each article.
