- "They say cats hate citrus. THAT REALLY HURTS MY FEELINGS!"
- — Picture quote, Animal Crossing: Wild World
Tangy (ヒャクパー Hyakupā?) is a peppy cat villager that appears in every game of the Animal Crossing series. Her name comes after her appearance, which is similar to the citrus fruit tangerine. Her Japanese name is a contraction of "100% Percent" and refers to juice concentrate.
Tangy is a cat with the appearance of an orange, complete with a small green leaf on her head. Her perky but chipper ears stand tall, and are pink inside. Although her arms and legs appear to be smooth, her face seems rather pitted, giving her more of the appearance of an orange. She wears a blue bar shirt initially that is horizontally striped blue and white.
As a peppy villager, Tangy will always appear to be in a good mood. She is easy to become friends with, because of her peppy personality. She will get along with other villagers including the player, making it easy to befriend her and gain her picture. She will enjoy the usual hobbies, and may ask the player for bugs or fish that she finds cute. She will easily get upset, but due to a short attention span she will forget ever having the conversation. Like all peppy villagers, she dreams of becoming famous in the future and reads Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing Series. She will get on well with normal, lazy, jock and other peppy villagers, but may annoy snooty and cranky villagers with her upbeat personality.
Her house has a citrus theme, which relates to her appearance. She has a pineapple bed, orange chair, lemon table, pear wardrobe, apple clock, pear dresser, watermelon table, and a lime chair. She uses the citrus wall and carpet. She has a Kiddie Stereo which plays Señor K.K.. Her house remains almost relatively unchanged throughout the entire series.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, her house has the same citrus theme except for a some new additions. She has K.K. Island playing on a high-end stereo, a cabana dresser, cabana bookcase, ukulele, apple tv, sunflowers, and a Huge Dekkoid.
