Howdy!
As a lot of you are already aware, Happy Home Designer is having its North American release on September 25, 2015, which is just over a month away. There are so many things that absolutely need to be done before the release. We're going to be getting tons of new users every single day, loads of information about new topics we're all excited about, and there is work that needs to be done.
1. The Small Things.
There is major cleanup that needs to happen. There are grammatically incorrect sentences all over the place, double-redirects, stubs, and so much more. Take a short walk through Special:Random every once in a while, give the page a good glare in the eye, and start scrubbing away at all the stains. Look for misspellings, look for areas you can add or remove information, organize photos and make them visually appealing, or even take a look in the infoboxes and see if something is out of place. If you aren't sure how to edit something, ask an administrator.
This isn't the most fun thing in the world to do, but it's plain and simple. Clicking the links on the list will open a page with individual pages that need help. find a section that is easy for you to do and have at it. Let's try to blank those pages!
Pretty easy. These pages need more information.
4. Getting Pictures
Ask me or Robyn for pictures that need to be added to the wiki. We can give you a list of pictures we need. Some may take a little bit more time and effort to find on the web, but it's definitely doable.
5. The Ancient Depths of the Wiki
We just celebrated our tenth birthday. There is so much MILDEW lurking and reeking in the corners. If you find something that's out of date, try looking for more information about it. If you think there's no hope and it's best to just die off slowly, show me and I'll put it out of its misery by deleting it.
6. SPARKLES
Most importantly, the place needs to look good. Adding colors, people always go crazy over rounded edges, making all the cool tables that everyone loves to just play around with. If you see something that you think has the potential to be prettier and much more pleasing, show someone who knows their way around wikitext. We can find a way to make it, well, sparkly.
We absolutely need everyone's help with this. Two or three people cannot clean this entire place up in a month. If none of these things sound like something you want to do, come by my Message Wall and ask for things to do. If you're stuck in the middle of editing, ask for help. If you aren't sure how to do something, allow me or another admin to teach you.
The wiki has got to be in good shape for visitors (who hopefully will become regular members)! There are plenty of things not listed here for you to do. Take a deeper look and let's get this show on the road. We have work to do.
