Town

From Animal Crossing City

A typical town's map in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

At the beginning of all of the Animal Crossing Games, the Player will move into a Town (Also called a Village), where the entire game will take place. In this Town, there are many Buildings, most of which are home to "Villagers", who are, as the name of the series suggests, all Animals. Other buildings include Tom Nook's shop, The Able Sisters, and some buildings which are exclusive to certain games, like the Post Office(Only in Animal Crossing) and the Town Hall(Only in Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Animal Crossing: City Folk), which seems to take the place of the Post Office.

Another main Building in the town, exclusive to Animal Crossing, is the Train Station, which is where the Player first arrives in the town(In Animal Crossing Wild World, instead the Player comes to town by Taxi). Using the Train Station, Players could also travel to their friend's towns, if they put a memory card for their town, and one for their friend's town in Memory Card slots A and B.

In Animal Crossing WW and CF, instead Players can travel to other Player's towns using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, going through the Town Gate. However, they need another Player's Friend Code to travel to a town over Wi-Fi. Also, In Wild World, Players can travel from town to town without a Friend Code, if the other Player's Nintendo DS is within Wireless range. In City Folk, the player may also travel via DS Suitcase. If the player has a DS, they may put their character and 16 items on the DS and then go to someone else's game and transfer the character onto the game.

[edit] Town Layout

In Animal Crossing most towns have three bridges, due to the fact that towns in that game are larger. In Wild World , all towns will have two bridges unless the river forks to create an island. This will create three bridges. In Animal Crossing: City Folk the towns are larger then in Wild World, and a third (or fourth if the player has an island) bridge can be bought. To get an extra bridge 200,000 Bells must be donated to the town fund. A fountain can also be bought for 500,000 Bells and will be found right below the Bus Stop. If 1,000,000 Bells are donated, a Lighthouse or a Windmill will be made, depending on which gets the majority of the villagers' votes (including the player, who will also be allowed to vote).
