"The esteemed Player, The fossil you recently sent is the skull of a vicious T-rex-and the teeth are still sharp! The Faraway Museum" —Animal Crossing (GCN)

The Tyrannosaurus Rex is a three-part fossil that can be donated to the museum in all Animal Crossing series games to date. It is the highest-scoring fossil (when complete) in terms of HRA points. The T-Rex Skull is also the highest-selling fossil in the game, as it is sold for 6,000 Bells.

Completing the T-Rex in Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing, once the Tyrannosaurus exhibit is complete, Blathers will give the player information about the creature through the following dialogue.

"Why, this means... Yes! Tyrannosaurus! It’s complete!!! Oh, such joy! Such unfettered delight! Truly... this is splendid. I am quite beside myself. I’m practically molting with all this excitement! Now then, where to begin? Tyrannosaurus... A magnificent beast... A highly evolved theropod, the ‘tyrant lizard’ was one of the largest carnivores of the late Cretaceous period. It had a large head , a short, muscular neck, a barrel-like body, and powerful hind legs with three-taloned feet. Its skull was enormous, and its vast jaws were filled with dagger-like teeth, the largest of which were 6 inches long! T-rex was 40 feet long from nose to tail. Resistance to its powerful attacks was an exercise in futility! Garrrr! Oh my! Oh, terribly sorry! I beg your pardon, eh wot? I seem to have been overcome by momentary savagery. Hoo!"

Completing the T-Rex in Wild World

Upon completion of the tyrannosaurus exhibit at the museum in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Blathers will give the player some information about the creature.

"Why, this means... Yes! Tyrannosaurus! It’s complete!!!Such unfettered delight! Truly... this is splendid. I am quite beside myself. I’m practically molting with all this excitement! I beg your pardon, eh wot?? I seem to have been overcome by momentary savagery. Hoo!!"

Completing the T-Rex in City Folk

After donating all of the pieces of the tyrannosaurus to the museum in Animal Crossing: City Folk, Blathers will give the player information on the creature with the following dialogue.

"...Amazing! Stupendous! The T. rex has been completed! Hoo, the sheer stupefication of it all! T. rex is, of course, short for Tyrannosaurus Rex! It lived until the final days of the dinosaurs and was a fearsome predator, wot? Just imagine how it would rend and tear apart its prey with those huge jaws and sharp teeth! Blech! Vivid! It was also very heavy, so the theory goes that it wasn't particularly fast. ...So, if it attacked, you could escape from it pretty easily, I should think...HOO! I...beg your pardon! I was so enthralled, I...I spouted hot air like a boiling teapot, eh wot?"

Completing the T-Rex in New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, a plaque by the display offers information about the fossil instead of Blathers.

Trexnewleaf

"The famous tyrannosaur was one of the largest and strongest carnivores of its day. Though it could reach more than 30 feet in length, it was capable of speeds near 20 mph. Its hind claws were powerful, as were its razor-sarp teeth. This made the T. rex fearsome indeed."
